The Arts Are Alive at The Aptos Academy

Students at The Aptos Academy thrive in an atmosphere that invites their participation in the creative and performing arts throughout the year.

Drama, Art, and Music classes give students the opportunity to explore and express their creative abilities.

Most students are involved in one or more events such as the Holiday Music Show, the Spring Concert or an annual Dramatic Performance that each of our Early Education, Lower School and Upper School students present.  There is also a student Talent Show and Art Show which take place in the spring.

Students may be engaged in painting a mural, ceramics, making masks, practicing a gymnastics routine, cooking, competing in a writing contest, creating a haunted house, or making scenery, props or costumes for the school play. The arts are both enjoyable and excellent for developing confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of teamwork.

The arts play an important role in Santa Cruz County, and The Aptos Academy is producing students who have gained an excellent appreciation for them.
